Back in February (yes, I am WAY behind), Nick participated in an ALL day Crossfit competition.
Avery and I went along to cheer for him.
He looked so handsome competing. (I definitely have some eye candy!)
He did amazing and we are always so proud of him!

Moving
As a last HooRa (sp?), we headed to The Owl for some fun. We were able to meet up with our good friends Matt and Emily and our other friend Lindzi showed up too!
It was bittersweet.
We had been anticipating to move back home for SO long and we were a little sad to be leaving. This had been our home for the last three years. But we were so ready for the new adventures ahead!
I was sure going to miss seeing my little sister anytime I really wanted to. I wasn't ready for that change at all!
Thank you to all of our Logan friends and family who supported us through the years.
We sure do miss you all!

Skiing at the 'Bird'
After a TEN year break, I finally got back into skiing this season!
Nick had bid on a ski weekend at Snowbird last summer through his charity auction.
Well, he won!
And we finally took advantage of the package the last weekend of January.
We arrived to The 'Bird' (as the locals call it) and were super excited.
We had a romantic dinner and took advantage of the spa on the roof. BEAUTIFUL!
Well around 2 in the morning, I came down with the damn stomache flu. (Sleeping on the bathroom floor by the toilet and all!)
Seriosly, a ten year wait and I get the flu?
I was determined to ski, flu or no flu.
That next morning I got up at 8, couldn't eat, but headed out on the mountain. I only made 6 runs. My body couldn't do any more.
Poor Nick skiied the rest of the day by his lonesome. AND ate dinner all by his lonesome. My dinner consisted of 1/4 of a Gatorade drink.
Fortunately we still had the next day. I woke up feeling like a champ and we put in 18 run in a half day!
This was the start to my new found love of skiing. AND WINTER!
I was able to go up to the mountains five more times before I got injured.
We skiied Powder Mountain in Weber County the first weekend of March.
I was going down a difficult ungroomed course and biffed it big time.
I knew I was done for the season but I continued for the rest of the day.
I went to the doctor the next day (because I couldn't walk) and found out I had sprained my ACL and MCL and almost dislocated my knee.
I was DEFINITELY done for the season! But I am looking forward to next!
Nick and I love spending time together, doing things athletic and outdoors! This is one of many hobbies we hope to continue together for the rest of our days!

Going Back in Time
Going back in time...
That's what is it going to feel like for a bit on our blog.
We have had some major issues with our camera (don't ever buy a Samsung) and we FINALLY got it back from the lame manufacturer.
SO..
Get ready for a MAJOR blog overload!
You ready?

WANTED
Can you believe our little turkey is turning 2?
Neither can we!
Since Avery is literally OBSESSED with Woody,
we figured a Woody themed birthday party would be appropriate!
Wait until you see the cake I ordered!
I am more excited for this than the actual party!
(Pictures to com...)
Anywho, ALL of our family and friends are invited to come celebrate!
(Can you believe we survived another year?)
(Hopefully we can make it through the Terrible Terrific Two's!)

Oliver
Most of you know Monte and Gracie found new homes last year. (They are both with very loving families that are providing them a wonderful life.)
Well, I hated not having a furry child around. When Nick was gone on work trips, I never slept. I would hear every noise in our house and imagine a boogie man downstairs. I knew if I had a dog, it would help me feel more secure. (It could atleast bark if it heard an unusual noise.)
I had basically been begging Nick and would even send him dozens of pictures a day. (I know how to push buttons.)
When we found out that we were moving back to Salt Lake, Nick said he would think about it.
Well, one day I was cruising around on KSL ads and found the cutest dog with the sweetest face. I sent Nick the picture and he even agreed this little guy was cute. I begged and pleaded to call on him and Nick said we would talk about it later.
Before I knew it, the ad showed SOLD. I was heartbroken. I couldn't get this little guys face out of my mind. I even cried to Nick!
I kept searching online to see if I could find another one. None seemed to hit me like the original.
On Nick's last day of work in Logan, I showed up to his office to take a picture of him with his building. Nick's mom was coming up to help us with Avery because we were moving the next day. She was already at Nick's work and as I was getting out, I saw this fluffy dog jump up on her window in her car. It was the dog I had fallen in love with, Oliver!
I dropped everything and swooped him in my arms. Avery kept laughing and and kept giving him hugs. It was the sweetest thing!
I guess I ruined my surprise by showing up to Nick's work unannounced. He was going to come home with him with a Valentine's Day card and balloon. (Sorry babe! I tend to ruin my surprises!)
Well Oliver, we call him Oli, is a perfect match for our family. He is 1 1/2 years old, potty trained and puts up with Avery. He is the sweetest thing with such a fun and loving personality. AND he doesn't shed or snore!
Thank you Nick for getting Avery and I a furry friend. We LOVE him so much! (Even though Oli LOVES you the mostest!)

Sledding: First Attempt
We decided to try and take Ave sledding for the first time. We've been wanting to do it for the longest time and finally found a Saturday that we had open.
We headed over to Sugarhouse Park after a snowstorm the previous night.
There weren't too many sledders out, which actually surprised us. (Probably because it was only 9:00AM. We are early risers now!)
Ave seemed excited. We marched half way up the hill and I took Ave down first. She did great so we decided to march to the top of the hill next.
She would not sit on Nick's lap whatsoever. (It hurt his feelings. Sad face!)
So I took her down again.
Since there was so much new snow, powder kept flying in our faces. I think this is what scared Avery. She was fine at first, but soon broke into tears. It was so sad.
We tried a third time and she basically ran away from us.
(We learned from a wise friend to never let your child leave an activity upset. They will then have bad memories from that particular activity. Try to leave with the child happy or content. Then they will want to try again.)
She started to march back to the car all by her lonesome. So we started throwing snowballs at each other. She laughed for a minute and then we are done.
We are hoping to put Ave in ski school next season, so hopefully she'll like the snow by then. :)

In the meantime
Once again, I cannot find my camera cord to my new camera! Boo! This move has really jumbled my brain!
In the mean time, I let Avery play with my old camera. Here are a few of her own masterpieces:

Rushed Delivery
So on Monday, I received a call from Nick about 4 in the afternoon. He sounded upset and said he needed to talk to me. I was expecting news of a death, but actually got news that we had to be MOVED back to Salt Lake by the weekend so Nick could start his new position the following Monday.
Although I am VERY excited, I started to cry. The first person I called was my sis. I couldn't stop crying. It is going to be very hard to not be able to see her whenever I want. Or to see my friends Em and Rachel. Or hang out and talk to my gym buddies!
At that moment, I realized I had a little niche in Cache Valley. I guess it's true that sometimes you don't appreciate what you have until it is gone!
This will be our SECOND move in ONE YEAR! I HATE moving! Add a hyper toddler and multiple home showings almost every day on top of that, it makes packing and keeping the house tidy EXTREMELY hard! EXTREMELY!
Our movers show up on Saturday to haul away our LoTown life. Wish me luck that I get everything packed!
On the bright side, Nick and I have had a trip planned to Maui for a while and it is coming up! Like, next week! Great timing! I guess I can handle the stress for a few more days and then relax on the beach sipping a margarita!
