.13. months old
our midge is now a toddler!
i figured i'd continue to write about each month's new developments.
first and foremost:
we have hit the dreaded TEMPER TANTRUM stage!
i thought it did not come until atleast age two.
WRONG!
this is a daily battle between our family.
avery can hit octave's i (we) never knew were possible.
somedays i think i'm going to go mad.
but, when i hear her laugh...
the deep belly laugh...
it makes up for it.
avery is still teething. (ugh!)
it is very rare that we get a full night rest now.
she has four teeth on top trying to come through at the same time.
i don't blame her for being upset.
they're bulging and so ready to cut through.
please oh please come out soon!
midge is still a very picky eater.
she has moved on from grilled cheese! sigh!
she still refuses milk of any kind.
i even bought the uber expensive pediasure. dislike!
she LOVES her apple juice and white grape juice.
she LOVES oranges, raspberries, strawberries, mandarin oranges, and bananas.
she does not like pb&j's. (what kid doesn't like pb&j's?)
she likes wheat toast with lots of butter!
she LOVES edamame!
some nights, she eats our entire bowl of steamed broccoli. (only sometimes.)
she likes strawberry shakes but no other flavor.
she likes mom's homemade english muffin pizza's. (with cheddar cheese. not mozzarella.)
and when she has been a good girl, she loves to get her frozen raspberry surprise!
avery is not walking anymore...
she is RUNNING!
she is fast.
and she likes to tumble.
i like to call her crash mcgee.
the poor child has bruises all over her forehead.
she gets ahead of herself like most of us do.
our child LOVES the outdoors.
we'll be sportin' some groovy tans here this summer.
she thrives outside and is in such a great mood when we go to the park.
on bad weather days, god help us all.
she pounds on the door and wants outside.
i even took her to the mall so she could try and run out some of her energy.
the bad thing about logan, there is nothing to do here. or go for that matter.
atleast in salt lake, we can go to the aquarium or childrens museum.
avery can say a few words now.
like:
dog
doggy
duck
dad
mom
ball
(most of her words now consist of d's.)
avery can also sign a few words too.
like:
milk
more
telephone
dog
hat
(we were playing with some flashcards and she started to pick them up and sign what they were. i was a proud mommy!!)
(this is avery's jibberish!)
we love singing nursery rhymes.
avery's favorite at the moment are:
the wheels on the bus
where is pointer
head, shoulder, knees and toes.
(i can't think of the "real" names to the rhymes, but you catch my drift.)
when we sing where is pointer, she extends her pointer finger and sings along.
she also likes to point to her head during the song "head, shoulder, knees and toes."
at avery's little gym class, she is OBSESSED with the drinking fountain, the closet that holds the balls and the monkey bars!
this last class, avery threw 3 epic tantrums.
i...was...SO...embarrassed.
luckily the moms told me each kid goes through this
AND
grows out of it.
she sat at the closet for the balls and kept pounding at the door screaming BALLS.
she also would not do any group activity because she was too busy swinging from the monkey bars.
she wasn't just hanging. she was full on swinging.
i have a busy child!
as each month goes by, i am amazed at how fast time goes.
at how independent our little midget is getting.
and at how much more fun things get.
we may have a busy bee.
but we sure do keep busy and have alot of fun!
