Easter 2012

This year, we invited our mom's to our house for an Easter Egg Hunt and breakfast. I bought all the ingredients for a feast the night before, but at last minute, Nick wanted to go to Ruth's Diner. (Which was A-Okay to me!!)

We had fun decorating the eggs the night before and waking up to having the Easter Bunny have hid them in our backyard. (We usually have a hunt at Papa Dale and Nana Sheri's house, so this was a fun change.)

Our dye job didn't go so well the night before. All of the eggs turned a pea green or blue hue. Ave had fun regardless. Next year, I'll try the Kool Aid idea from Pinterest!!

Hogle Zoo

After breakfast, we headed over to Hogle Zoo. We usually go every Mother's Day, but changed it up this year. There were hardly an people there and the weather was perfect!!

We had a fun and low key dinner at Desert Edge Brewery and then walked over to Wise Guys for a fun night full of laughs! Thank you to our wonderful friends for making my hubbs night special!

The next day, Sunday, we had family come over to our house for dinner, cake and presents. (I told you we like to celebrate!)

Nick got so spoiled and received 5 pairs of shoes! All he wanted were shoes! I teased him that he was Metro Sexual. He wasn't too fond. :)

**Avery requested a chocolate cake and Nick requested his favorite family cake, Strawberry Cake.**

Ave's Birthday Party

Sorry for having another post on birthdays!

We have decided to throw Avery a BIG party every other year. Last year's party was awesomely huge, so this year we wanted it to be low key. We invited only 5 of Avery's friends/cousins and held it at Airborne Trampoline in Draper. We had pizza and her favorite cupcakes, Funfetti from Sweet Tooth Fairy. They are oh so delicious and BLUE of course! Thank you to Nick for sharing his birthday with his sweet Ave!

I have LOVED taking Avery here. Although I am out of commission baking a baby, Avery gets a good hour long workout! She is fearless!

(I think Nick had more fun than some of the kids!)

Happy Birthday Sissy!

We had a fun filled day to celebrate Sissy turning 3!

We started the morning by having her favorite breakfast of blueberry pancakes and yellow juice. (OJ) We then had a Dr's appointment to find out what we were having right after that. It was fun to celebrate both of our babies in one day!! Thank you Avery for sharing your special day.

We filled her special day with lunch with daddy, a visit to Papa Dale at work, Lorax the movie, bowling and pizza when daddy got off work, then cake and presents with Nana Teri! Phew! It was a whirlwind of a day, but Avery had so much fun!!

She is all about Princesses this year, so she got a Princess baseball mitt and ball, a new tee ball bat, a Princess vanity set that plays music and a lawn mower. This kid is such a daddy's girl and LOVES to follow him around whenever he is home. Including when he is doing yard work! One of her chores is to actually help pull weeds in the morning. :) I'm mean!

We asked her a list of questions of her favorite things:

*Favorite Color: Blue
*Favorite Princess: Cinderella
*Favorite Songs: We are Young by FUN and Somebody that I Used to Know by Gotye
*Favorite Movie: Cinderella and The Lorax (She has seen Lorax 6 times!!)
*Favorite TV Show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
*Favorite Thing To Wear: A Dress or Her Blue Cinderella Dress
*Favorite Way To Wear Her Hair: In a bun or down curly
*Favorite Cereal: Fruit Loops
*Favirite Thing to Eat: Blueberry Pancakes or Cheeseburger and Fries
*Favorite Indoor Activity: Watching Movies
*Favorite Outdoor Activity: Hiking or Going to the Park
*Favorite Book: Any Princess Story. But we HAVE to finifh the night off with either Goodnight Moon or Goodnight Beach!

Happy Birthday Munchkin! We sure do LOVE you!!

Gender Reveal

I recently got addicted to Pinterest, like half of the US population, and wanted to do a fun gender reveal of our baby. But in reality, it came too quick and I didn't do a thing. :( Sorry kiddo!

We had the ultra sound on the morning of Avery's 3rd birthday. What a fun day to celebrate our first born and to celebrate the gender of our second born. With Avery, I KNEW with every ounce of my soul that she was a girl. Right from the get go. But with this baby, I had no idea! We were hoping for a boy, but would have been happy either way.

Avery kept saying that she was getting a baby sister. Nick and I thought she maybe had intuition and started to think it was a girl. But right when I laid down on the ultra sound table, we asked Avery again what she thought we were having and she said a boy. For the first time! And Boy oh Boy was she right! There was no mistaking that we were having a BOY!

Before Nick could say it, I chimed in "Oh thank goodness, We are done!" ;) We are so excited to have a girl and a boy in the family. My due date is kind of weary. My body has been out of whack, thanks to a bad thyroid. So originally it was August 9th. Then August 21st. Then August 13th. Sooooo.....Nick and I are going with the 13th! Three of our ultra sounds have put us at the 13th, so we are happy with that date. Only time will tell.

Two ultra sounds have shown that the baby has enlarged kidneys. There is nothing we can do to reverse it or fix it, so once he is born, he will have to get another ultra sound to see if mother nature corrected itself. If it hasn't, this means that he is prone to infections and will be immediately put on anti biotics. If that does not correct it, then a stint will have to be placed. It is a little nerve racking to know there is a potential problem, but I am trying to not fixate myself on it. Cross your fingers that everything will fix itself!

Time to play catch up

I did not mean to take a THREE MONTH break from blogging! But, with being pregnant, being a mommy to a busy three year old, running and organizing a fundraiser and every day life....I let it go WAY TO LONG!

So, without further ado....I am trying to get back in the game. (Especially before the new babe is born!) Brace yourself for a ton of posts!!!
