Day 6

A picture that shows my TRUE SELF...

OH WAIT!

I'm a mommy and a wife! I wouldn't trade these two things for the world! Sure I have my hard days, but the good outweigh the bad. I am in love with my Avery, my Nick and my life!

(Disclaimer: I am the one behind the camera 99.9% of the time. If there were to be a TRUE picture of my TRUE self, it would show I am a worry wart!)

Day 5

A picture of somewhere I have been to...

CORONADO!

This is our HAPPY place!

The first time Nick and I went together was for his 30th birthday. (That was AGES ago!) The first time going as a family was when Avery was 3 months old. We even got married there! We now have a family tradition of going every 4th of July and we've been there for two Thanksgiving's. Coronado is a slice of heaven. Or heaven itself!

Day 4

A habit I wish I didn't have...

OR

That's right!

The computer! (Well technically the internet, but the picture was of some star looking galaxy in the outer space. See picture below.)

I log on often. TOO OFTEN! I love reading up on friend's blogs. Browsing for presents. Or reading the daily gossip!

It helps me stay in the know on current issues or helps me to feel like I am having a "conversation" with some other adult.

Needless to say it is a LOVE/HATE relationship. I HATE to LOVE it and LOVE to HATE it!

Day 3

A picture of me and my craziest friend(s)....

Honestly, I can't choose just one!

I have been blessed with many wonderful friends through the years and we have had our own CRAZY experiences together! I wish I had photos from our high school and college days. Unfortunately, I lost way too many!

Day 2

A really good memory....(or two, maybe even three.)

(This is not the day I met him, rather a couple of months after.)

The day I met Nick.

It wasn't supposed to happen, but it did. What I mean by this is I was out with a girlfriend for a Girls Night Out. She wanted to stop by and check in on her guy friend. I was annoyed at first, but the moment I saw Nick I knew I was going to marry him.

The day I met Avery.

I'm not going to lie. I was nervous the ENTIRE pregnancy with Avery. The fear of the unknown. But once I laid eyes on our sweet daughter, I knew there was a greater meaning to life. I had never felt love like this before.

Our wedding day.

Nick and I did it the way WE wanted to. Unconventional or not, it was our day and one of the best days of our lives.

Day 1

My computer is running SOOOO slow and I am about to throw it against the wall.....

Moving on:

(Photo taken in Coronado at one of our favorite cafe's Tartine.)

15 "interesting" facts about me

1. I used to despise chocolate until I had Avery. Now, I LOVE it! Dang it!!!
2. I have ghosts that follow me! No lie. I have some pretty crazy stories and will have to share one day.
3. I LOVE taking Zumba classes. It reminds me of my old dancing days and it's one uniterrupted hour that I can "zone" out in.
3. I lived in Texas for 9 years.
4. I've had chicken pox THREE times! (Twice as a child and once as an adult.)
5. I want to go back to school soon!
6. My first CD was Bon Jovi, courtesy of my dad.
7. My first concert was Janet Jackson. (Same as my sister. Weird!)
8. Have I mentioned I LOVE music and concerts? It makes me feel young!
9. I am deathly afraid of driving through Sardine Canyon. I do it twice a week and get anxiety each time I am about to drive into it!
10. I feel like I live out of a suitcase. Thank goodness 2011 is right around the corner!!!
11. My sister Smash is my BEST friend! (And it's weird we like, do and love so many similar things!)
12. I relate most memories to music. Or the other way around. (Ie: Phil Collins reminds me of driving in our red Ford Escort, with my dad, in Texas with NO air conditioning. U2 reminds me of my first boyfriend. Blue October reminds me of my love, Nick. And Ismael Kamawool reminds me of my baby, Ave!)
13. If I see 11:11, I still make a wish. (Does that make me childish.)
14. I can't live without coffee. I am a HOT MESS without it!
15. Nick and Avery are my life! I would do anything for them!

...So I kind of realized I am not that interesting! Bummer...

.20. months old

* We are getting closer to the 2 year old mark.
* BUT, we have reached the terrible two's! Yikes!
* All four molars are now in place, now we are working on the k9's. These are MUCH MORE painful than the molars and have given us MANY sleepless nights!
* This toddler knows every button on her mom and likes to push them (even exhaust them) multiple times a day!
* Came down with her first Ear Infection. (In California) Needless to say, the plane ride home was torture!
* Then, came down with Croup a few days after that. Poor tyke can't catch a break.
* Still obsessed with Shrek. We are trying to limit showing her the movie to once a day. (Haven't been successful yet!)
* LOVES, LOVES, LOVES Barney. And loves us to sing the "I Love You" song.
* Slowly liking the potty.
* LOVES Jello! (Who doesn't?)
* LOVES her daddy more than anything!

two recipes worth sharing!

Last Christmas my Father-in-Law bought us a Blendtec Blender.
He swore up and down that this thing was amazing.
I honestly thought it was just another blender with a few extra cool gadgets.
I was wrong.
I use this thing probably twice a day now!
We make smoothies, soups, guacamole and breads.
Yes, breads!
It came with a recipe book that has some AMAZING recipe's in it!
Avery is a little weird on textures, but their recipe for banana bread is yummy & she'll eat it too!

Banana Bread
2 egg whites
1/2 cup light olive oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 bananas-peeled and broken in half. (I use 3. I like more of a banana flavor.)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place ingredients in blender jar in order as listed and secure the lid. Allow the blender to run for 30 seconds, or until batter is well mixed. Pour into sprayed 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until golden.

It is SOOOO yummy!!!

Another staple in our diets is guacamole. (Avacadoes for that matter. I eat atleast one a day!) We put it over salads, use it as a dip, garnish, etc.

Guacamole
3 avacadoes-peeled and pitted
1/2 cup red bell pepper-quartered
1 Roma tomatoe-quartered
1/2 small lemon-peeled
1/4 yellow onion-peeled
3/4 tsp salt

Place ingredients into blender jar and secure the lid. Press Pulse button and release after a few seconds. You may need to stop pulsing and use spatula to scrape ingredients towards blade. Press 8 times or until desired consistency is reached. (Again, Avery is weird on textures, so we mix it until smooth.)

We also make yummy smoothies every morning. (And sometimes for dinner too.) We use the simplest ingredients and it comes out deelish!

Example:

2 handfuls of red grapes
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 banana
handful of frozen berries of choice (We like mango's and strawberries!)
handful of ice

That's it! You can throw just about anything in....

Anyways, thought I'd share a few of our favorites! Happy Thursday!

Grandpa Bob

Over Halloween weekend, my Grandpa Bob came into town.
This is my mom's dad who lives in Seattle.
We only get to see him twice a year, so we were REALLY excited!
A few years ago he had heart surgery and we weren't sure if he was going to make it.
We are so grateful he is still with us and that we get to see him more than we used to!!

Sister's! (They don't look related at all!;))

My Aunt and Uncle are moving to Nebraska, so we had a farewell dinner at MacCool's.

My best attempt to get one with Ave. She looks a little possessed.
